A collection of software products that can come in quite handy at the TU Vienna.

Essentials

• VoWi — public wiki containing information, experiences and resources about courses
• TOSS — search engine for courses, lecturers, rooms and curricula
• VPN to connect to the TU Vienna Intranet

Quality of Life

• TU Wien Userscripts for auto-login, adding links to Mattermost and VoWi, etc.

• PDF Page Stripper to get rid of duplicated slides in PDF presentations

• CryptPad — encrypted collaborative Editor for text, presentations, whiteboards & more

• Overleaf — online LaTeX Editor (Free TU Premium version)

• Zettlr — offline Markdown Editor with support for LaTeX Equations

• Zotero + browser extension + ZotFile to extract PDF annotations

Tip: Set the Default Format to BibLaTeX under Edit > Preferences > Export.

Maths

• Wolfram Alpha — online calculator and knowledge base
• Symbolab — online calculator with step-by-step solutions
• TGI Tools — online tools for the TGI lecture.

Programming

• Jetbrains IDEs — IDEs for the most popular programming languages. Free for students
• Visual Studio Code — IDE with extensions for most programming language. Free for everyone

• Thunderbird — Open source desktop mail client that works. Recommended setting: Hamburger menu in top right => View => Sort by => Threaded
